The first pictures of Wills, Cate and the new future King! You saw them here first….:)
Just wanted to say hello to anyone coming here from ‘The Dolls House Magazine’, welcome to Dolly Peg Doll!
Peg dolls are a throw back to my youth I guess, what little girl didn’t have one at some point? My collection is steadily growing and you will find some of it here on these pages as well as step by step projects to make your own and lots of ideas. Use the categories and tags to help you find something specific, or just enjoy a browse!
The smallest peg doll ever? Made from the head of a matchstick, this little sailor peg has been hand sculpted and painted by my husband and stands just 8mm high….yes, 8mm!!
I actually hav a few peg doll things to post, but every time I sit down to do it I get interrupted! I hope to get up-to-date soon and try and post a little more often. I’m very excited about an event happening in Oswestry….An olympic peg doll exhibition!
The idea is to make your own doll based on the olympics, and send it to the gallery for the exhibition. The plan is to have 5000 dolls on display by August! You can have a helping hand by buying a kit from the Qube with everything you need to make two peg dollies. They even give you a freepost label to send your doll back, so there really are no excuses! Buy your great value kit from E-bay, just search ‘peg doll’.
Check out their website for more info: www.qube-oca-org.uk
Here are a few dolls already completed to give you some ideas:
So get those brains into gear and see what you can come up with!
Time for another vintage doll from my collection I think. Went to Buckingham Palace yesterday to primarily see Kate’s wedding dress, but we got a tour around the state apartments for the palace also, so what better than a Queen peggie?!
This one isn’t in bad condition, her gold coronation dress is looking good but her robe could do with a little attention. Perhaps I will dig her out and give her a new one! Will probably make it purple, the colour of royalty…
