This is a blog dedicated to the humble dolly peg. Like many people, my mother made them for me when I was a little girl. Now grown up, married and a professional embroiderer, my appreciation for them has grown. It’s hard to find anything on the interrnet about these little handcrafted people so I hope here to build up a collection of dolls old and new and possibly tell their stories. Traditionally a childrens toy, I would like to suggest that they can be more than that, and will post many examples to illustrate this. So have a delve into history, reminisce about a doll you once had or make future heirlooms and create a new one!
